ABOUT NAZA

Naza Alakija is an Iranian humanitarian and the Founder & CEO of Evoca Foundation, an NGO which works across the pillars of climate action, education and supporting women and girls.

Naza advocates for girls' and young women's access to education and funds innovative grassroots movements that deliver holistic solutions to the climate crisis and build equitable futures for all. Naza is a Senior Adviser to UNICEF and a number of other leading global institutions.

Foundation

Founded by Naza in 2018, the Evoca Foundation is an NGO supporting creative, community-based solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.

In the last year, Naza has led partnerships which span environmental activism and awareness in Cote D’Ivoire, tackling gender-based violence in Nigeria, funding mobile libraries and education in Afghanistan and supporting female survivors of genocide in Rwanda.

In 2021, Naza launched Evoca Pictures, providing activists and advocates with strategic insight, expertise and expansive networks for creating world-class films that instil hope and makes measurable impact.

Evoca Pictures is a nimble team of creatives mobilising fresh perspectives to engage and disrupt popular culture. Its purpose is to spark meaningful action, bringing the world’s most pressing issues into emotional and tangible focus.

Background

Naza was born in Tehran, Iran and was raised in the United Kingdom from the age of nine.

Naza recently received her Masters in International Relations from Queen Mary University of London, and a certificate in Climate Change and Environmental Ethics from the University of Oxford. Naza speaks fluent English, Farsi and Portuguese.
