Burundi


In 2021 Naza visited Burundi with UNICEF, one of the African nations most affected by climate change, despite contributing very little to rising C02 emissions.

In 2020, over 100,000 people had to be evacuated from their homes due to flooding and rising sea levels. During her time in this special country she was introduced to how UNICEF Burundi is supporting communities on the ground, and in particular, how they’ve found that empowering women leaders often translates to progressive community development and climate resilience.
